Nana Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), criticized Sports Minister Kofi Adams. He condemned Adams for calling some football club owners and managers "clueless."
Adams made this remark after a controversial Matchday 33 game. The match between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC ended prematurely at the Ampain AAK II Sports Arena. Chaos erupted when the referee awarded a disputed second penalty to the home team.
Nations FC players and officials protested by storming the pitch. They cited biased officiating and poor security as reasons for their refusal to continue playing. During the chaos, Dr. Kwame Kyei, the club’s owner, and his son Divine Kyei were allegedly assaulted.
Minister Kofi Adams harshly criticized certain club owners on Sporty FM. His comments have drawn significant backlash from various quarters.
In response, Nana Oduro Sarfo spoke on Adom TV's Fire for Fire program. He accused Adams of lacking understanding of football matters. He stated that no health minister would publicly criticize private hospital owners as clueless.
Oduro Sarfo suggested that if Adams understood football, he wouldn't have made such remarks about club owners. He also blamed the GFA for not properly orienting Adams when he took office.
He said they should have provided him with essential documents like codes of ethics and regulations of the GFA. As the Ghana Premier League season ends this weekend, the GFA has not yet decided on the abandoned match's outcome.
