Kotoko management must consider keeping Karim Zito as substantive head coach - Kwame Baah-Nuako

Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, a former Asante Kotoko management member, supports Karim Zito as head coach.

Zito was appointed on an interim basis after Prosper Narteh Ogum's dismissal. He took charge midway through the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. Since then, Zito has led the team to the FA Cup final and remains unbeaten in the league.

In an interview with Akoma FM, Baah-Nuakoh praised Zito's performance. He believes Zito deserves to be retained as head coach.

Baah-Nuakoh emphasized that it’s not just about management’s wishes. He asked if anyone had checked if Zito wants the job permanently. If he does, it shows he can lead the team effectively.

He stated that nothing prevents Kotoko from appointing him. However, both Zito and management need to agree on this decision. Baah-Nuakoh noted that while management may want him, Zito might have other plans.

He believes Kotoko should hire Zito if he is available and willing to coach. “If both sides can reach an agreement, there’s nothing stopping them,” he said.

Asante Kotoko will play against Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday at DUN's Park for Matchday 32 games.
