New GOC boss calls for ADR system in sports administration

Mr. Richard Akpokavie is the new president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). He plans to introduce an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system in sports administration.

Akpokavie believes this system will help resolve misunderstandings quickly. It will keep disputes out of traditional courts, which take too long. This delay can negatively impact sports development.

He shared these ideas in his acceptance speech on Saturday. Akpokavie received 44 votes to win the election. His opponent, Mr. Michael Odum Aggrey, received 19 votes. Aggrey previously served as General Secretary for eight years on the committee.
