Nigeria legend Christian Chukwu passes on, CAF consoles NFA, family

The President of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, is saddened by the death of Christian Chukwu.

Chukwu passed away at 74 on Saturday, April 12. He was a strong defender and made history as Nigeria's first captain to lift the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations trophy in 1980.

Dr. Motsepe expresses his condolences to Chukwu's family and the Nigerian Football Association (NFF).

He also extends sympathies to the entire Nigerian football community.
