‘Nobody should do it again’ – Mingle warns Nations FC players against repeat of Annor’s celebration fine

Nations FC head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle has warned his players. He cautioned them against excessive celebrations that could break regulations. This follows an incident with forward Emmanuel Annor.

Mingle's comments came after Nations FC won 4-1 against Legon Cities. This victory helped them maintain their lead in the Ghana Premier League. They have three games left in the season.

Nations FC currently has 57 points, just one ahead of Bibiani Gold Stars. Annor faced scrutiny for a goal celebration in a previous match. He removed his shirt to show an undershirt that read, “I Belong To Jesus.”

This celebration violated Ghana Football Association rules on political and religious expressions. As a result, he received a fine of GH¢500.

Mingle addressed the issue by speaking to the entire team. He emphasized that everyone must avoid future infractions. “In Ghana, they won’t caution you; they’ll fine you,” he said.

Nations FC is set to play FC Samartex on May 25. This match is crucial for their title hopes.
