Samuel Opoku Nti, former striker and CEO of Asante Kotoko, supports Karim Zito's appointment. He believes Zito has the skills to improve the club's performance.
Opoku Nti, also known as Lord Zico, praised the timing of Zito's hiring. He spoke to Akoma FM about how it was a smart decision.
Kotoko had six matches left when Zito arrived; now there are five. Opoku Nti thinks this change was necessary for success.
He noted that Kotoko’s previous performances were not up to par. “It’s better to sacrifice one individual than risk the entire team,” he said.
Opoku Nti compared this situation to coaching changes in Europe. He felt confident that a new coach could lead Kotoko to consecutive wins.
Zito has started strong as interim coach, leading Kotoko to a 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars on Sunday.
