Kim Lars Bjorkegren, head coach of the Black Queens, has shared his main goal. He wants to improve the team's chance creation and goal scoring.
The Ghana women's national team recently finished a nine-day training camp. This took place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampam. Bjorkegren noted that while the team has improved, they struggle with finishing. This is especially important as they prepare for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
“We’ve been testing many players,” Bjorkegren said. “Now we need to finalize our tactics.” He emphasized connecting with wingers and strikers in the final third. This connection is crucial for creating chances and scoring goals.
Bjorkegren praised the quality of players at the camp. “You can see their talent when you spend time with them,” he said. He mentioned five or six players who stood out, including Abigail, Nancy, and Fatima.
This year’s WAFCON will take place from July 5 to July 26. The Black Queens are in Group C with South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali.
