Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), praised improvements in stadiums and pitches.
For years, football infrastructure in Ghana faced criticism. However, recent reforms have led to noticeable upgrades. Okraku credited the GFA’s Club Licensing Department for this progress.
He stated, “Our stadia and pitches have improved a lot.” He acknowledged that challenges remain, especially during dry seasons. Maintaining pitch quality is difficult due to water shortages.
Okraku compared this issue to winter conditions in Europe. He stressed the need for a stronger maintenance culture to sustain improvements. Continuous investment and commitment from all stakeholders are essential.
“There is a need for more investments in our stadium maintenance,” he said. Okraku believes improving maintenance culture is crucial across the country.
He concluded by emphasizing that enjoying football requires better investments in infrastructure and safety measures.
