Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has shared why he joined AFC Bournemouth.
He moved to the Premier League club from Bristol City in January 2023. Semenyo signed a four-and-a-half-year deal worth £10 million.
Since joining, the 25-year-old forward has become a key player for Bournemouth. He has scored 20 goals in 81 appearances.
In an interview with Showmax, Semenyo discussed Bournemouth's strong interest in him. “I had a few clubs that were quite interested,” he said.
“But Bournemouth tracked me from summer through the World Cup to January.” Their consistent pursuit made him decline other offers.
“They were watching me and checking up on me,” he added. “That shows how good the club is.”
Once Bournemouth made their intentions clear, Semenyo was certain about his choice. “My heart was set on joining Bournemouth,” he said.
He never looked back after signing with them. In the recent Premier League season, Semenyo scored 11 goals and provided five assists.
His impressive performance has drawn attention from several Premier League clubs. These include Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
