Sports Minister Kofi Adams calls for ‘proper education’ for club owners in Ghana to end hooliganism

Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, has spoken out. He believes education for club owners in Ghana is essential. This is necessary to end hooliganism in football.

His comments follow recent violence at a match in Ayinase. The game was between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC last weekend. It ended abruptly after Nations FC protested a controversial penalty awarded to the home team. This led to chaos, and Nations FC eventually walked off the field.

Adams called the incident unfortunate. He emphasized that club owners need proper education to prevent such situations. “It is quite unfortunate that we continue to have such situations,” he said.

He added that club owners must be educated before their fans. Some owners do not seem prepared for their responsibilities, he noted. “Some management clearly seem not to understand what football is all about,” Mr. Adams told Sporty FM.

In response, the Ghana FA has taken action on this matter. They have promised to address it quickly.
