Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona is set for his first call-up to Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars. Reports from Ghana confirm this news.
Amankona has been impressive this season. He scored 13 goals in 23 appearances in the Ghana Premier League. The 25-year-old will be called up by head coach Otto Addo.
Ghana will participate in a four-nation tournament in London. This tournament includes Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. It celebrates the best of African and Caribbean football.
On May 27, Trinidad & Tobago will face Jamaica. This match marks their first meeting on British soil. The next day, May 28, Ghana will play against Nigeria.
This match renews their fierce rivalry. The tournament concludes on Saturday, May 31. It features a double-header: one game for third place and the grand finale for the Unity Cup title.
