Swedru All Blacks seal Ghana Premier League return after 16-year absence

Swedru All Blacks have made a historic return to the Ghana Premier League. They were away for 16 years. This achievement comes after a strong campaign in the Access Bank Division One League Zone II.

The team confirmed their promotion with a 3-0 victory over New Edubiase. This was their 21st win of the season on matchday 29. The win brought their total points to 66, securing first place in the zone with one match left.

This is a major milestone for Swedru All Blacks. Their consistent performances have made them the best team in Zone II. With a balanced squad and tactical discipline, they are now a formidable force.

The club will finish their season with an away game against PAC Academy. However, they have already secured their spot in next season’s Ghana Premier League.

Their promotion, along with Hohoe United's from Zone III, marks a resurgence for both clubs. They aim to reestablish themselves at the top level of Ghanaian football.

Meanwhile, the final promotion spot from Zone I is still undecided. It will be determined when Real Tamale United faces Eleven Wonders in a playoff on May 30 in Accra. Both teams are vying for the last ticket to join Swedru All Blacks and Hohoe United in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
