Under-17 AFCON: Defending champs start with a win, Cote d'Iviore rout CAR - Ghanaian Times

Senegal began their title defense with a 1-0 win over Gambia. The match took place at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium on Tuesday, April 1.

Ibrahima Sow scored the only goal in the seventh minute. This victory earned Senegal three points and placed them second in Group C.

Tunisia topped the group on goal difference after a 3-0 win against Somalia. This match also occurred at the same stadium later that evening.

Fedi Tayechi scored twice, once in the sixth minute and again in the 58th minute. Anisse Saidi added another goal just before halftime for Tunisia.
