Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has good news. A new headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will be announced soon. This follows the sudden end of the previous deal with betPawa.
The sponsorship agreement ended unexpectedly. It left Ghana’s top league without a title sponsor just three months into a three-year partnership. The deal had options for annual renewal but was canceled without explanation. This raised concerns about financial support for the league.
With only three matches left in the 2024/25 GPL season, Okraku provided an update during an interview with GHOne TV. He said, "The Ghana Football Association has been working around the clock to secure new sponsors for the league." He promised that an announcement would come soon.
The GFA is hopeful that this new sponsorship deal will boost the league. They aim to provide renewed financial support and rebuild confidence among clubs, fans, and other stakeholders.
