Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito is hopeful about winning the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title. This optimism comes despite dropping points over the weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors needed a win to stay in contention. However, they were held to a goalless draw by Bibiani GoldStars during Matchday 32 at DUN's Park.
Kotoko currently sits in 3rd place with 55 points. Nations FC leads the league with 60 points, and there are two games left in the season.
After the game, Zito expressed concern about losing valuable points but remained positive. He said, “It was a fantastic game; every team wanted to win.”
Zito noted that both teams created many chances but failed to score. He added, “Nobody knows what will happen unless we calculate and add the two games."
He emphasized that even if they win their remaining matches, it might not be enough. "For now, I will never say it’s over," he stated.
Asante Kotoko will aim to continue their title pursuit when they host Medeama SC on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium for Matchday 33.
