Zito plays down celebration talks ahead of Kotoko's Super Clash with Hearts of Oak

Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has issued a warning. He cautioned against premature celebrations before their Super Clash with Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Kotoko currently leads the Ghana Premier League with 50 points. They are five points ahead of sixth-placed Hearts of Oak. There are only five games left in the season.

This match will renew one of Ghana’s fiercest football rivalries. Zito spoke during his pre-match interview about the strength of Hearts. He believes the game will be closely contested.

“They are not a bad side,” he said. “Sometimes luck eludes them.” He expects a difficult game, noting that both teams are unique rivals.

Zito emphasized that his team will approach the match with confidence. “We are going in with a winning mentality,” he stated. However, he noted that the outcome will be decided on the pitch.

“You cannot predict a Hearts versus Kotoko game until it’s over,” he added. This Super Clash is crucial for both teams as they aim for a strong finish to the season.
