Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global Research at Global Info Analytics, revealed that 20% of voters who backed Nana Akufo-Addo in 2020 switched their allegiance to John Mahama in the 2024 elections.

Speaking on Joy News' AM Show, Dankwah highlighted findings from post-election interviews showing a significant voter shift.

“We found that a substantial number of Akufo-Addo’s 2020 supporters had switched to Mahama,” he said.

He noted that economic concerns, unemployment, and dissatisfaction with education policy fueled the shift, particularly in the Eastern Region, which saw unexpected support for Mahama. The NPP’s focus on education without convincing data left gaps that Mahama capitalized on.

Dankwah’s research, which accurately predicted the election outcome, has drawn praise from political analysts eager to dissect the changing voter dynamics in Ghana.
