In the Bawku Central constituency of the Upper East Region, polling stations have been assigned no more than 500 voters each, according to Electoral Commission (EC) officials.
Voting began early, though turnout has been low, with no reported disturbances from either the EC or the community.
Despite being a conflict zone, Bawku has experienced a renewed curfew in recent weeks, and there were reports of frequent gunshots before the election.
However, in the past three days, there have been no gunshots, and the entire Bawku enclave remains calm, ensuring that the ongoing election process has not been affected by the conflict.
