Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) challenges during the December 7 presidential election to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) control of key traditional media outlets.
Addressing NPP communicators, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the party's strong performance on social media but highlighted the media imbalance that hindered their communication strategy.
Despite the media disadvantage, Dr. Bawumia praised the NPP’s campaign team for their efforts and resilience.
He reflected on the unexpected voter turnout that influenced the results, with NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama securing a majority.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need for the NPP to reassess its media strategy moving forward to compete effectively in both traditional and digital spaces.
