The Women Election Situation Room Ghana (WESRG) has commended Ghanaians for ensuring a largely peaceful 2024 presidential and parliamentary election, despite a few isolated incidents.
At a media briefing, WESRG Chairman Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi praised citizens for their patriotism and patience, highlighting the smooth conduct of the electoral process in adherence to Ghana’s electoral laws.
He noted the Electoral Commission’s preparedness, citing a Voters Register of 18,774,159 individuals, with 51.6% female and 48.4% male voters.
The election featured 13 presidential candidates and 801 parliamentary candidates across 40,976 polling stations.
Dr. Adu-Gyamfi’s remarks underscore the nation’s commitment to democratic processes.
