A total of six people were killed during Ghana’s 2024 general election due to violence between party supporters, according to the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana).

The CDD-Ghana report, compiled with support from CODEO and WANEP, documented 76 incidents, including destruction, injuries, and deaths.

The report highlighted incidents in the Tolon, Savanna, and Ashanti regions, with shootings, stabbings, and confrontations contributing to the casualties.

The violence also led to looting and the destruction of Electoral Commission offices.

While CDD-Ghana acknowledged that the election was less chaotic than feared, they stressed the ongoing challenge of electoral violence, despite Ghana's history of peaceful elections.
