Ablekuma North: Constituents divided over solution to parliamentary election stalemate

Efforts to collate results were disrupted Efforts to collate results were disrupted

Residents of Ablekuma North are frustrated over the unresolved parliamentary election dispute between the NDC’s Ewurabena Aubynn and the NPP’s Nana Akua Afriyie, leaving the constituency without representation.

Efforts to collate results were disrupted during a scheduled Electoral Commission (EC) exercise, allegedly due to violence from NDC sympathisers.

Constituents expressed concerns about the prolonged delay. “How can we be without an MP after voting on December 7?” one resident asked, while others called for transparency or a rerun.

The NPP challenged the NDC to present evidence supporting their claims, while the NDC demanded a rerun in 62 disputed polling stations.

As tensions rise, residents and political actors urge swift resolution to restore parliamentary representation in the constituency.
