The High Court in Accra has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate 62 outstanding polling station results alongside the 219 already tallied in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Justice Forson Baah Agyapong ruled on Saturday that the EC failed to perform its mandatory duty by declaring NDC candidate Awurabena Aubynn the winner without collating all 281 polling station results.
The decision follows a mandamus application filed by NPP candidate Nana Akua Afriyie, which the court upheld.
To ensure smooth execution of the directive, the Inspector General of Police has been instructed to deploy armed security personnel to support the EC in fulfilling its legal obligation.
