Aide to Hajj Board Executive Secretary arrested in Bolgatanga with pre-thumb-printed ballot papers

Mumuni Rufai, an aide to the Hajj Board’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Hamza Faruk, has been apprehended at Aningazanga JSS Polling Station in Bolgatanga Central for alleged electoral malpractice.

Rufai was reportedly caught with over 100 ballot papers already thumb-printed for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a presidential candidate.

NDC polling agents raised an alarm after noticing suspicious behavior, prompting police to search Rufai. The ballots were discovered hidden in his jallabia.

He was arrested on the spot and taken to the Regional Police Headquarters for further investigation.

This incident has triggered widespread calls for stricter enforcement of electoral laws to ensure the integrity of the ongoing election process.
