Juaboso MP Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has criticized the transfer of the district’s Police Commander just eight days before the general elections, calling it "unreasonable."
He questioned the rationale behind the decision, particularly in a constituency with challenging terrain, arguing that the new commander would have insufficient time to familiarize himself with the area.
Akandoh singled out Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, accusing him of orchestrating a questionable move that could undermine election security. He expressed concerns over the IGP's integrity but reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring peaceful elections in Juaboso.
The lawmaker, first elected in 2012, stressed that effective security leadership requires adequate preparation, especially during a critical election period.
