Citizens of Akim Oda in the Eastern Region have condemned their Member of Parliament (MP), Alexander Akwasi Acquah, for alleging on Oyerepa TV that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won recent elections through “black power” or “juju.”
The remark has sparked outrage, with residents deeming it disrespectful and unrepresentative of their community’s values.
Led by Emma Krah, concerned citizens have called on Mr. Acquah to publicly apologize, retract his statement, and clarify that it was misguided.
They also urged him to recommit to promoting respect and inclusivity in his public engagements.
The group emphasized the importance of addressing the matter promptly to restore harmony and uphold the dignity of their constituency.
