With just days before Ghana’s December 7 general election, Francis Ameyibor, National Treasurer of WAANSA-Ghana, has called for peaceful voting and urged citizens to choose ballots over bullets.
Speaking at the “Ballots not Bullets” dialogue in Accra, Ameyibor stressed that violence threatens democracy, silences voters, and breeds fear. He encouraged Ghanaians to promote non-violence, respect human rights, and engage in peaceful campaigns.
Ameyibor also highlighted the importance of accurate information and urged security forces to ensure a safe election environment.
The event, supported by ECOWAS, focused on reducing electoral gun violence, especially among youth in vulnerable constituencies, and promoting a peaceful election process.
