Asantehene dispels speculations of friction between Manhyia Palace and NDC

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has refuted claims of a strained relationship between the Manhyia Palace and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During a visit by NDC flagbearer John Mahama as part of his Ashanti Region tour, Otumfuo, speaking through a linguist, emphasized that there is no friction, saying, “It is not so.”

He also urged vigilance at polling stations, highlighting their role in determining election outcomes.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mahama denied allegations linking him to an attack on the Asantehene’s convoy in Techiman.

Describing a circulating video as AI-generated and false, he called it a smear campaign against him and the NDC.

Police investigations reveal the attack involved youth throwing stones at buses as the convoy returned from a funeral in Nkoranza.
