Bawumia demonstrated maturity and statesmanship in conceding defeat – GJA

The Media Coalition Ghana has praised New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for demonstrating “maturity and statesmanship” by conceding defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Ghana Journalists Association President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, commended Dr. Bawumia’s gracious decision to congratulate President-elect John Mahama even before the Electoral Commission’s official announcement.

He described the gesture as a shining example of true leadership and commitment to Ghana’s peace.

The coalition also urged President-elect Mahama and his supporters to celebrate responsibly, while calling on disappointed voters to emulate Dr. Bawumia’s calm demeanor.

Expressing concern over reports of vandalism and destruction of state property, the group condemned such actions and urged both NPP and NDC leaders to promote peace and unity.
