Award-winning journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has assessed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s chances in the 2024 elections, acknowledging both strengths and challenges.
In a Facebook post, Manasseh highlighted Bawumia’s relentless work ethic, humility, and strategic campaign, supported by his wife Samira Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
He credited the NPP’s use of incumbency advantage as a significant factor in their strategy. However, he warned that Ghana’s struggling economy and the pattern of regime change every eight years pose substantial hurdles.
Disgruntled pensioners and bondholders affected by debt restructuring add to these challenges. Manasseh urged voters to critically evaluate the NPP’s performance, framing the election as a pivotal “first-round verdict” on their governance.
