Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has criticized NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as unfit to lead Ghana. In a strongly-worded epistle ahead of the 2024 elections, Amidu accused Bawumia of lacking integrity and serving as a "poodle" of President Akufo-Addo.
Amidu claimed Bawumia initially sought to be the NDC's running mate but joined the NPP after failing. He argued that a Bawumia presidency would perpetuate Akufo-Addo's "create, loot, and share" governance style, leading to continued hardship for Ghanaians.
Labeling Bawumia an opportunist, Amidu asserted that he does not embody the values of honesty and selflessness associated with Northern Ghana's forebears.
Amidu, who resigned as Special Prosecutor over corruption concerns, urged voters to choose accountability and change.
