Former Minister Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng has expressed doubts about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s emotional attachment to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In an interview, he noted that Bawumia was initially opposed by key party figures, including former President Kufuor, when selected as running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo.

While acknowledging Bawumia’s economic credentials, Frimpong-Boateng criticized his failure to meet public expectations. He also alleged that delegates were manipulated during Bawumia’s selection as NPP flagbearer.

Frimpong-Boateng expressed disappointment with the current state of the NPP, calling it disunited and disconnected from the party’s traditional values, and revealed his own growing detachment after legal challenges from party members.
