The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has condemned political parties for inciting their supporters to invade collation centres after the December 7 polls.
Rhoda Osei Afful, CODEO’s Project Manager, emphasized that the integrity of the 2024 elections depends on securing these centres to avoid disruptions, which have delayed result collation and declarations.
Osei Afful stressed the need for transparency, urging political parties to focus on building trust rather than using confrontational tactics. She proposed that results from individual polling stations should be made available to the public to decentralize the process and reduce tensions.
She also warned against supporter interference, urging political parties to address concerns through appropriate channels and foster a more constructive, transparent electoral process.
