Chief Imam congratulates Mahama, calls for end to post-election violence

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his victory in the 2024 elections, praising his perseverance and commitment to public service.

Sheikh Sharubutu also commended Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his gracious acceptance of the results, calling it a display of maturity and patriotism.

While celebrating the peaceful conduct of the elections, the Chief Imam expressed concern over post-election violence and fatalities in some areas.

He condemned vandalism, looting, and violence, urging Ghanaians to reject such actions and work towards a peaceful, unified transition and democratic consolidation.
