The Chief of Nsawam, Nana Kwamena Ansah I, has convened an emergency meeting to defuse tensions between supporters of the NDC and NPP over delayed parliamentary election results in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality.

The meeting, held at the Chief’s palace, included political leaders, security agencies, and traditional authorities. Key attendees were DCOP Bossman, the Eastern South Police Commander, and other municipal security heads.

Nana Kwamena Ansah I urged calm and appealed to NDC supporters to cease street protests while awaiting the Electoral Commission’s declaration. He also requested intensified police patrols to ensure public safety.

Both parties pledged to maintain peace, and security agencies have ramped up patrols as the Electoral Commission continues efforts to finalize results.

The election was tightly contested between incumbent MP Frank Annor Dompreh and NDC candidate Philibert Fummey, with only a slight margin separating them in 2020.
