Four civil society groups, including the Centre for Conflict Resolution-Ghana (CENCOR), have publicly condemned the Electoral Commission (EC) for denying them accreditation to observe Ghana's December 2024 elections.

The CSOs argue that their participation has historically promoted transparency and reduced election-related tensions, and they express concern that excluding domestic observers could diminish trust in the electoral process.

Adib Sani, spokesperson for the coalition, criticized EC Chairperson Jean Mensah’s decision, describing it as an undemocratic move that risks damaging the election's credibility.

The groups are urging the EC to reverse this decision and allow qualified CSOs to serve as election observers.
