The Coalition of Unpaid Teachers and Arrears-Ghana has announced plans to boycott the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7 due to the government's failure to pay their salaries and address other essential concerns.
In a statement signed by Secretary Nana Yaw Yeboah, the group expressed frustration over the government’s lack of response to their grievances, despite multiple appeals.
Some teachers have been owed salaries for up to a year, causing significant financial hardship for them and their families.
The group demands immediate resolution of their unpaid salaries, arrears, and the issuance of staff IDs. They have called on fellow teachers to stand in solidarity until their demands are met.
