The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has expressed concern over misinformation disrupting Ghana’s electoral process, following a broadcaster's false claim on Wontumi TV about election dates.

Nathaniel Tweneboah Koduah, NCCE’s Asokwa Municipal Director, labeled such comments as damaging, undermining the Commission’s efforts to educate the public on key issues, including vote buying and political violence. He emphasized that misinformation erodes trust in institutions and can spark unrest.

While NPP’s Archibald Gyasi downplayed the comment’s influence, he acknowledged the need for responsible communication. NDC’s Prof. Dissou Yarhands criticized the NPP for not condemning the broadcaster.

Koduah called on political parties and media to prioritize accurate reporting, warning that falsehoods could harm Ghana’s democracy and peaceful elections.
