The Electoral Commission (EC) has nullified parliamentary results for Dome Kwabenya, Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, and Tema Central constituencies, citing procedural violations.
Deputy EC Chair for Operations, Samuel Tettey, announced this during a press briefing in Accra, stating that the results could not be upheld as the collation process deviated from the rules outlined in CI 127.
Tettey explained that party supporters disrupted the collation process, forcing EC staff to declare results under duress. Despite police presence, the required procedures were not followed, making the declarations illegal.
Out of 12 constituencies requiring re-collation, three—Suhum, Akwatia, and Fanteakwa North—have been completed.
However, re-collation remains pending in Ahafo Ano South West, Ahafo Ano North, Obuasi East, and Techiman South.
