Dome Kwabenya rerun: We can’t guarantee safety of electoral officers – NDC

The Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu, has expressed grave concerns about the safety of electoral officers during the rerun of elections at the Abokobi Women’s Development Centre in Dome Kwabenya.

Speaking on Channel One Newsroom, Nukpenu warned that the community opposes the Electoral Commission’s directive to rerun the poll, asserting that the initial results, favoring NDC’s Elikplim Akurugu, are final.

He claimed the community could not guarantee the safety of officials attempting to conduct the rerun and cautioned against using police or military forces to intimidate residents.

Nukpenu emphasized the community’s resolve to resist what they perceive as electoral interference, urging authorities to reconsider the directive to avoid potential conflict.
