The National Election Security Task Force has deployed military personnel to support police in securing collation centres as the Electoral Commission (EC) resumes tallying results for unresolved constituencies.
This decision follows EC criticism of inadequate security, which had earlier disrupted the process.
Speaking on December 20, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi emphasized maintaining order and urged political actors to discourage mass gatherings at collation centres, warning against actions that could heighten tensions.
The task force assured Ghanaians of its commitment to peace, democracy, and the integrity of the electoral process.
Only accredited individuals will be granted access, with a joint police-military presence ensuring smooth operations.
Stakeholders were encouraged to cooperate fully with security measures.
