The Electoral Commission’s Deputy Head of Research, Fred Tetteh, has assured eligible voters without their voter cards that they can still cast their ballots.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Breakfast Show with Bernard Avle, Tetteh explained that registered voters can visit their polling station, where verification officers will authenticate their identity using fingerprints and facial recognition.
“The system contains detailed records of all registered voters, so whether you have the card or not, your face and fingers are enough,” he stated.
This reassurance aims to prevent voter disenfranchisement and ensure a smooth voting process.
Tetteh urged all eligible voters to confidently participate in today’s election without fear of being turned away.
