EC deploys 1,475 BVDs to 7 constituencies in Savannah Region

The Savannah Regional Electoral Commission (EC) has dispatched election materials, including Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) and ballot papers, to all seven constituencies ahead of the 2024 elections.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, the deployment was conducted at the Savannah Regional Police Headquarters under tight security, with representatives of political parties monitoring the process.

The materials include 1,475 BVDs and 353,390 ballot papers allocated to constituencies such as Bole-Bamboi (5,960), Yapei-Kusawgu (73,650), and Damongo (41,380).

Regional EC Director Johnson Akafia, along with district officers, verified the accuracy of the supplies.

Representatives from the NDC and NPP, Dr. Niama Abdulai and Saburu Kantama, expressed satisfaction with the transparency and security measures.
