The Electoral Commission (EC) has suspended its decision to limit the number of media outlets at collation centres during the December 7 elections.

This move follows concerns raised by the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) and the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

Dr. Bossman Asare, EC's Deputy Commissioner, clarified that the original intention was not to restrict media coverage but to manage overcrowding at smaller centres.

The EC will now engage stakeholders to develop a more balanced policy.

Dr. Asare emphasized the EC's commitment to free and fair elections, urging voters to fulfill their civic duties.

He also encouraged political parties and security agencies to collaborate for a peaceful election process.
