The Electoral Commission (EC) has affirmed its readiness to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections on December 7, 2024.
EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, announced at a press conference in Accra that all necessary materials, including ballot boxes, papers, and verification devices, have been distributed nationwide.
Approximately 210,000 temporary election officers have been trained and deployed to oversee the process at over 40,000 polling stations.
Mrs. Mensa urged election officers to uphold fairness and transparency while encouraging first-time voters and the youth to actively participate peacefully.
With 18.7 million registered voters, this marks Ghana's 9th election since the 4th Republic began in 1993. The EC expects a high turnout, following a successful Special Voting exercise with 83% participation.
Voters will elect a President and 276 MPs.
