The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has assured the public that no military personnel will be stationed at polling stations during the December 7 elections.
In a statement on December 1, GAF emphasized that its involvement will only occur upon formal request from the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to address specific security needs.
The military's role is limited to standby support, with the GPS taking the lead in maintaining security at polling stations.
GAF has urged citizens to report unauthorized individuals posing as military personnel or wearing military-patterned attire at polling stations via GPS toll-free lines: 18555 or 0800 311 311.
GAF reaffirmed its commitment to peace, stability, and safeguarding the electoral process while encouraging voters to cooperate with security forces and act responsibly during the elections.
