The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has pledged to maintain peace and order during the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking at the Peace Pact signing event in Accra, Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, emphasized the police's neutrality, assuring Ghanaians they will not be a source of disturbance.
Dr. Dampare outlined plans to deploy patrol teams for rapid response to emergencies and create a safe environment for voters. He also called on stakeholders to uphold peace, urging everyone to avoid actions that could disrupt the nation’s stability.
“We will not be the source of disturbances and urge others to do the same,” he stated, reiterating the police’s commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s cherished peace.
