The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a break for all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) ahead of the December 7, 2024, general elections.

In a circular dated November 29, 2024, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, the Deputy Director-General of GES, confirmed that schools will close on December 5, 2024, to allow staff and eligible students to travel to their constituencies and vote.

The directive emphasizes the importance of participating in the democratic process, with Regional Directors instructed to ensure full compliance.

The GES also urged staff and students to seize the opportunity to cast their votes.
