The Ghana Institute of Governance and Security (GIGS) has strongly condemned the Electoral Commission (EC) for its controversial decision to re-collate results in nine parliamentary constituencies, calling it a violation of electoral laws.
GIGS argued that the EC’s actions, following the peaceful 2024 elections, undermine the democratic process and public trust.
The institute emphasized that the procedures for collation and declaration of results, as outlined in the 1992 Constitution and Public Elections Regulations, were disregarded by the EC.
GIGS called on the Police Service to ensure the re-collation process aligns with legal standards, warning against compromising electoral integrity.
