The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns over the Electoral Commission's (EC) delay in declaring results from Saturday's general elections.
The party fears the delay is heightening tensions and sparking isolated incidents of violence across Ghana.
Speaking from the NDC headquarters on December 8, National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia urged the EC to expedite the announcement to prevent further unrest. He highlighted growing frustration among supporters, particularly the youth, who are demanding clarity in the process.
Asiedu Nketia, known as "General Mosquito," noted that both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have independently collated their results, questioning the EC's inaction. He warned that the delay is creating anxiety and misinformation, which could destabilize the peace.
